Located 5.7 miles away from Cape Carvoeiro, the Berlengas archipelago consists of three islets groups: Berlenga Grande and adjacent reefs, stelae and Farilhões-Forcadas, all of different geological nature of the Portuguese coast. The Berlenga Grande, the main island, is about 1500 meters long by 800 meters wide and 85 meters high. Its pink granite rock is bathed by clear and transparent waters that recall the tropical islands of our imagination. This island is the largest and one where we can live has an area of 78.8 ha. Has a climate that is influenced by two types of climatic influences: the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, providing faunal and floristic features that make this archipelago a unique ecosystem in the world.
