Buddha Eden

The Buddha Eden Garden is an area of about 35 hectares, designed and conceived by José Berardo in response to the destruction of the Buddhas of Bamyan Giants, in what was one of the biggest cultural barbarous acts, erasing the memory masterpieces, the late period of Gandhara Art. In 2001, deeply shocked by the attitude of the Taliban government, which destroyed intentionally unique monuments of the World Heritage Site, the Commander Berardo started, at another, their dreams, the construction of this extensive oriental garden. Providing, in a way, colossal Buddhas carved tribute to the rock of the Bamyan valley in central Afghanistan, and that for centuries were cultural and spiritual references. It is intended that the Buddha Eden Garden is a place reconciliation. Without any religious trend, we open the doors to all people regardless of religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender, age, cultural or social status, inviting the union, communication and meditation as a way to rediscover happiness. We aim, therefore, go the opposite way to the destruction of human beings and disseminate the culture of peace.
